at 8:00 pm MST or at the link below ... "A Changing Harvest" ... a 30 minute segment on family farms and development along the Wasatch Front. I'm proud to be a part (with credit and narration beginning at 2:00)

Great job, Diane! I watched the first 5:00 or so and when time allows, I plan to watch the whole thing. I LOVE documentaries anyway, and this one looks quite interesting. Not to mention that I 'know' the narrator.

Kudos!!

pre-apologies for the mini-rant.

i listened to diane's part - then bookmarked & just finished watching the whole thing. it's a sad, sad story all over the country, that of the american farmer. just 10 years ago there were a few farm houses within 5 miles in any direction from our family homestead. now, when you stand on our hill & look to the west, you see a subdivision off in the distance. a neighbor sold 10 acres off the north end of his property and somebody is building a McMansion 200 yards from our property line. i know people have a right to do what they want to do with their own property --- but man, it's getting harder and harder to get away. luckily the terrain immediately surrounding us is pretty rugged, so harder to develop --- but you can hear the trucks on the highway now - when before - it was just ... quiet.

Thanks for the link Bruce.

Great work Diane... and to echo Todd, a very sad story about a disappearing lifestyle.

thanks, all! i actually missed the premiere as my dh had planned a mystery date (first time for that!). we went to see "SOMM" the documentary about 4 friends working toward their taking of and passing the master sommelier exam. while not a comedy, my goodness i LOLd! it may have been the 3 vinno rossos in succession pre-movie that helped but i recommend it. there was a heckler in the theatre, too.

along todd's lines, you remember mitt romney, right? this is not political, just an example ... ahem:
the other day the paper ran a short item saying he'd bought a multi-million dollar mansion at deer valley.

today's paper haa a story about him building something in salt lake city/holladay on walker lane, the revered and reputable mansion row. likely he's tearing down to build, build, build big, bigger, biggest. (oh sorry, editorial content there).
