|
|
My SP C1 v2 totally wet the bed.. Occasional static and crackle has turned into a constant.. I'm told a Bonnell mod corrects this, and then some..
Anyone have any experience with a Studio Projects C1.v2 mod? _________________ Lee Kanne

That's quite funny... I've got the CAD and an SM7b and I'm looking at a 416 to complete my arsenal _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

The CAD e100s I received from Front End Audio came DOA, and another client who received her CAD e100s had hers crap out almost immediately.
I recommend buying one used that has been properly "burned in" first, CAD clearly isn't doing that in an effort to meet demand. The the buyer beware! _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

The problem is more than likely a bad capacitor. Fairly easy to fix. Most mods just replace all the inexpensive chinese electronics with higher quality components. Capsule optional. Usually what time a bench guy would spend in tracing the bad part it is just easier to replace everything. Any high school kid into electronic and that owns a soldering iron could probably fix it.
Worse case a bad capsule. Then go buy another mic.
Out here in LA we have a couple of repair shops that specialize in broadcast electronic repair. Cheaper to send a senny in to them than back to Sennheiser for a repair. There should be someplace like that in Chicago. _________________ "Dialog is the painting on a canvas of silence" |

I've had John Bonnell mod my Rode NTK and an AKG 200, and been quite pleased afterwards with both. On the other hand, i had a Mike Joly modded MXL 909 that everybody who listened to disliked. _________________ Best regards,
