Hi,

I did look around for fire ratings, but didn't find anything. They seem to be made of vulcanized rubber, so I guess I'll follow up on that info. So far I've found some similar mats that have class 1 and 2 protection, but nothing about these specific mats. I suppose I could ask when I go to the feed store. Wink

Vulcanized? Well, at least they're Spock-approved. Ninja

Harbor Freight has 1/2" thick 24" x 24" rubber or foam, connectable squares with a good fire rating (as they are used for industrial fatigue mats) for under $10.00 USD in packs of four.

If you really need 1" thick rubber isolation mats, consider buying more and stack them.

Imagine a burning tire...

Real hard to get started and just as hard to put out.

Frank,

Yep, just ran across those. For the space I'm thinking about treating, a small horse mat would do and no shipping. But, I've seriously looked at HF, too.

I could use some led lights in my booth. Yes it is at times like easy an bake oven in there with my single overhead spot that gets pretty hot. But I heard from George that you should avoid making any unnecessary penetrations, so I've had a thought about installing led in the pre existing hole where the spot is. If there are any ideas from your experience with LEDs that throw off a good amount of light from a single penetration, I would be grateful.
