You guys will know. A friend wants a mic to record into his iPad. Is there anything decent?

Can you adapt a USB mic into an iPad connection?

Although I like apples, it's not my preferred fruit.

My favorite so far is the Apogee ONE for iOS, but the CEntrance MixerFace could be just as awesome (or more-so) if she's patient.

Yeah, but they don't have your knowledge! Thanks for the ideas Soundgun.
He bought the iRig pre which allows you to use a pro mic. He says it sounds good using Twisted Wave.

By the way, I think I was at K92 in Roanoke while you were at VT!

Here is a new Ipad recording interface from Focusrite. Has Scarlett pres. Only bummer is that it requires power.

The second bummer is that it's big. There's only one reason to record into an ipad, and that's because you don't want to haul a laptop and interface and mic-cables-etc out on the road with you. I don't see any reason for anyone to record into an ipad at home, other than curiosity.

Actually, there is another reason... and I am right in the middle of it. Get rid of the room noise! There can be a time in the journey toward being a fully grown and successful V-O person when you look at costs as say: "What makes the most sense, for ME, RIGHT NOW!" What is the cost of building an isolation booth... right now? What is the cost of ditching the traditional computer and getting a quiet one, right now?

Hey, I could turn off the computer, do my reads into an iPad or tablet, turn the big flame thrower back on, transfer the recorded files, and edit away.

So the mixer, the interface is a bit big... That's o.k. if you can then also use it with the standard machine.

Works for me!

iRig Pro or regular? There's a big difference between them...
