I would like to venture more into IVR and VOICEMAIL work. Anyone know of any websites or training I could check out?

I know of no such training. For those who do this kind of work, what could one be taught that would bring real value?

it really is pretty straight forward. if you have technical questions about legacy (outdated & stupit) audio formats and such, i'm sure we can help.

Any commercial and/or narration training you get will translate very well into IVR & MOH work.
It's all about communication and being aware of who the audience (aka: end user) is going to be.

I did a webinar for VoiceOver Xtra a year or so ago on Telephony work.
(I do A LOT of it)
If you email John Florian over at VoiceOverXtra
johnflorian@voiceoverxtra.com
he can tell you how to purchase it.

And why IS it that now, no matter WHO you call, every stinkin' one says:

"... as our menu (/options) have recently changed" ????

BUT
it's one of the advantages for those of us who do a lot of this type of work: constant updates!

We LOVE 'em! Wink Laugh

Anything you need to know about telephony, you can learn from Liz.

In fact, I heard a rumor that Alexander Graham Bell was planning to come back from the dead, just to brush up by taking Liz's webinar. cool

The big thing specifically with IVR is you have to be aware of how phrases are concatenated. Half the time you're saying parts of sentences so you have to understand how they'll be put together so you get the appropriate inflection.
