Voiced the new ipDTL instructional video, and used ipDTL to test with VO peeps Tokyo, London, and Manchester.

All the snow has finally melted in Atlanta, and they dug up the emails showing the Georgia Emergency Management chief simply didn't believe it was going to snow, despite being warned by his deputies. Nice.

So he was incredulous rather than incompetent... nah... probably an unhealthy mixture of both Wink

LOL...on top of it, this chap is President of the National Board of Emergency Services. His training is extensive and varied...and still he's been pitiful throughout this debacle.

Politicians. What can I say that hasn't been said. Sigh.

Oh Voices, you never fail to amuse me...

British, one minute+ video, rush job, ISDN needed... $120

It's actually a Voices managed gig. It's a bucket full of WTF.

What concerns me, Peter, is that they have probably found someone to do it.

I just ignore all the jobs in the 100-250 range on Voices. They are all mostly a bucket of WTF - Wiggling Trout Fish.

I dunno 'bout this one. It's a US client looking for a Brit with ISDN... does the cheapskate b*stard want to dial back to the UK? Doubtful.

As it's an "internal" gig (and just a short web video), so I shall bid my minimum session fee (plus escrow) and explain politely why.

OK... so that will be at least three times his budget, so I'm not holding my breath... but recently I've bid over-budget on a number of Voices gigs and got them. OK, not by a factor of three, but nothing ventured... Smile

Right on, Peter! They've gotta know, or learn, that they'll get what they pay for! Money Mouth

They seem to get tasked with managing the majority of low-paying *RUSH* jobs. Apparently they have never heard of, or have chosen not to inform their clients of, the basic rule of thumb in voiceover (as well as many other creative endeavors):
Quality, Price, Speed; pick two.

Absolutely hilarious, Peter!
