I love that. Now what happens - if this becomes reality - when the telcos realize in their rush to pull the copper when customers switched to fiber (and in thousands of new homes where copper was never installed) they've shot themselves in the foot? Think they'll be putting that copper back? ~snort~ |

One of the features of fiber is the ability to send hundreds (thousands?) of different channels through the same small fiber. I didn't see a mention in the article of the total capacity for copper wire.
More on this later, I'm sure.

The problem with reporters covering technology is that most reporters don't know squat about technology. _________________ Don Brookshire

Did you all not notice the distance involved for the "high speed copper"?
Pay attention to the details folks this is NOT news.

...but they're getting *electric* typewriters.
Those you can, indeed, "read" from a distance, and possibly via the power line.
The best thing about TEMPEST is that you can talk about "compromising emanations" without having to giggle. _________________ Finally, Ford stops starting to say things and starts. |
