I've been reading out loud for more than a decade to children's groups and of course my own kids until my kids suggested about a year ago, that I should record my reading. So I've taken the plung. Did some months of VO classes, and have my demo reels. And surprisingly last week got an offer from one of the top talent agencies in my state for representation. I am really excited and a wee bit intimidated. But wanted to share my demo stuff. Would love and welcome feedback.

There is a sound in you I really enjoy so keep on keeping on.

Someone with a good ear and good directing skills needs to sit with you as you read scripts to prevent you from "reading" scripts. You are deliberate, you do not react or feel spontaneous.

DON'T PANIC!

In the right hands, very easy to fix.

You have a "character" delivery. Mom, nervous type, real woman. That's good, there's a need for that type of voice. You don't have a smooth, announcer style delivery, doesn't mean you can't, but I didn't hear it.

Learn what your strengths are, and work on those.

I sincerely hope you don't mind if I critique your post title, which should read DEMOS, no apostrophe, no possession. It's a plural word, which calls for an S at the end.

Thank you , Bill and Philip. Not panicking. I'm not trying to have an announcer voice, so I take the "character delivery" in a good way. Away from the mic what I love is reading stories and novels aloud, and especially things related to and for kids, and I love doing the character voices during those readings. With that in mind, my goal is to work in VO in those areas. But, I am very new and have a lot to learn and work on. Thank you for taking the time to listen.
