Hooray! After vociferously complaining to IT, threatening to invoke the ACLU for no good reason (is there one?), and throwing pancake make-up all over the men's room wall, they freed up my VO-BB!! ;-}

Thanks for all your support (esp. DB) everyone!

I just had to quote this for posterity's sake. The sheer manliness of your protest approach overwhelms me, lol.

In all seriousness I'm glad they relented.

eyeliner and concealer?!?! I knew you TV types were a little bit daffy and had to deal with some makeup but seriously. You're putting me on right?

(Keep in mind that tongue in cheek response comes from a 14 year radio vet. As my current av shows, I'm doing good if I shave once a week. )

Honest-to-God...the "Image" consultant was in here last week. She wants me to start waxing my eyebrows.

I said: "What's next?...shaving my legs?"

Courvo

P.S. to Deebs: Why should I leave the Mrs.' make-up alone?...my daughters don't.

Courv, I'm comfortable enough in my sexuality to say you are a good looking man and your eyebrows are just fine the way they are. Are TV consultants as bad as radio ones?

At least the radio insultants didn't make us shave.

And Courvo--
I just didn't want you throwing Mrs Courvo's stuff around to make your point.
That's grounds for harsh punishment.

Shave?!? Heck no. I don't believe I even owned a pair of pants that didn't have holes in them when I did mornings. Dressing like crap seems to be a required part of doing morning radio. Actually, that reminds me. I used to have long hair up until around 1996. When I decided to cut it off the GM of the station I was working at threatened to fire me if I did cut it. Aren't too many jobs like that in the world.

No no....TV consultants are worse, 'cause they REEEELY don't know what they're talking about.

They either:

1) Want to apply in your market what KINDA worked in __________. (fill in the blank for US city -- Wilkes-Barre, PA, or Paducah, KY). (spelling edited later)

2) Want you to do what they told you to stop doing two years ago, but which is now back in vogue.

....end of rant

Courvo

Deebs: she wouldn't be seen dead with pancake...but 'understand your point

Most TV consultants I worked with wound up being the next news director at one of the stations they were hired to consult for.

BTW its Wilkes-Barre (say Wilkes as in John Wilkes Booth... Barre=Barry unless of course you are a local then its said Wilkes Behr) We used to laugh at some of the late night commercials that had you sending your $19.95 to Dept. XYZ, Ah-VAH-Ka, (spelled Avoca) Pennsylvania.... (It's Ah-voh-ka, where WNEP is headquartered, these days the only station worth working for in that market)

great job, sucky business.
