As I study I see over and over these two terms. As in try to be "vocally free", which sounds a lot like hippie talk; and "You dont want Tesnion in your read..".

Has anybody seen a really good explanation for what exactly these mean and how to listen for it when self directing/practicing?

Any examples that youve seen on the web/youtube that have the tension sound?

Thanks

gary

It's mainly breath control and there are some good books on it ..Look for one by Dr Morton Cooper, for starters try Winning with your Voice..helps clarify what this is all about. By the way, not having tension in the voice, doesn't mean there can't be tension in the read My apologies to the board members who like to say this is all "just talking" but I think that's absolutely untrue. If it were actually that easy, everyone in the world would be a VO. Now it's only one in three people. Smile

For it you listen not, Luke.

For tension, feel it you must.
