I'm looking for something extremely portable. I was curious what solutions some of you were using for portable auditions.
To clarify, I mean I really need something that is not cords hanging around and mic stands. Think...spy.
Thanks for any input. |

here is ONE way --- just one --- there are likely others. This was recorded for another purpose but it will give you an idea. you WILL need a mic stand, and i would replace the phone with the android tablet of your choice. the a is about $8 ... i think. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

The a featured in the video is s/details?id=com.extreamsd.aemobile" target="_blank" class="postlink">"Audio Evolution Mobile DAW."
I havent used this one, but have used s/details?id=com.extreamsd.usbaudiorecorderpro" target="_blank" class="postlink">USB Audio Recorder PRO and it works very well with an Android tablet. This was my first recording setup and it worked just fine. _________________ www.MarleyAudio.com |

i have used them both - both work just dandy on my nexus 10 and my android phone via OTG cable and micport pro. audio evolution mobile is multi-track whereas usb audio controller pro is single track. (i think). i actually recorded an actual paying gig on my phone (as a scratch track) with the latter and the client used the audio. so --- yeah --- why not? _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

I've used an Apogee MiC into an iPad running Twisted Wave for iOS. I've done it for auditions, but also sent out urgent pickups as well. Mic stand is definitely a must. I tried holding the mic once and it ended up having a bunch of booming noises from moving...no matter how hard I tried to be still |

As far as a portable mic mount/stand, try the Stage Ninja. Very versatile with the attached clamp. Allows it to be attached to just about anything. The flexible gooseneck lets you adjust your mic to just about any position that suits your environment. Add your choice of shock mount and you're good to go.
I will add that due to its somewhat medieval-like appearance, you might be politely asked by one of those snappy blue uniformed TSA folks.."What the hell is THAT..?" if you have it in your carry on while boarding a flight.

Install TwistedWave for iOS, iAnnotate, and iDownloader and you have a pretty nice setup. |
iDownloader doesn't work with Bodalgo.. other than V123.com. (works) I'm not sure about any of the other P2P's.. _________________ Lee Kanne
