How do you have your mic placement?

Above...because it is always in the way if the boom arm is below the mic. I swing my hands around a lot when I'm voicing.

But do you put boxers or briefs on your mic?

Funny I'd see this - just flipped mine over (mic, not underwear). Though I know it does not like to be on its side, I cannot find anything that suggests it cares whether upside down or downside down. Even though it wants to be addressed from the front, the end of the grill pointing at my floor might pick up some stray reflections and that worries me, so I frequently have it pointing up at the ceiling treatment. But then I imagine that gravity interferes with the way the element is situated, so I turn it over.

I repeat this process, for no measurable reason, every so often when I imagine things.
