I'm pretty new to this forum, so I first would like to thank everyone for their posts and advice. It's nice to have a place where fellow radio and voice over people can chat.
Hoping that I can get some input. I've been using my Alesis MultiMix 8 USB Interface for "on location" broadcasts, and was hoping that once my home studio is complete that I can set it up in there permanently. Will this Interface be sufficient for Voice Over work, etc.... or should I invest in something else? I like this one, because it has a USB connector to the computer, but now I'm worried that it will affect the quality of my work. Any advice is appreciated.
Here is a link with more information on my interface: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/727760-REG/Alesis_MULTIMIX_8_USB_FX_MultiMix_8_USB_FX.html |

Definitely sufficient, but I had one that I quickly got rid of because it was too noisy. Depends on the space you're putting it in too. It can get you started but if mine was any indication of the average noise of the gear, you would be MUCH better off with a Scarlett 2i2 or similar. |

Good to know! Thanks for the heads up. Like I mentioned, I've only used it for on-location broadcasts so far, and they have all been at music festivals, so it's hard to hear any noise coming from the unit. I'll try it out, and if it's too noisy I'll get the 2i2. I appreciate your help! |
