That is really cool! The best part is, I have one sitting on my desk. Guess I just need a smoother mic Smile

STEVE: Great to hear you love the iD22. Besides the micpres being so good, the converters are top notch as well !

Vernon: Maybe the iD22 is the answer for you as it has great converters in addition to the very clean micpres. (DISCLAIMER: I don't work for them, just like their product a lot, and was one of the first to use it for VO).

Chalk me up as a soon-to-be convert, Scott. I hope, at least! It's not easy to get one in this part of Canuckistan, but I spoke to a Montreal distributor just this week and should get mine by the end of the month. Fingers crossed that the deal won't all go south for one reason or another.

And not to threadjack, but since I'm lined up to get one of these units, I'm curious whether anyone here has done Skype patched sessions using one. If yes, is it possible to use the whole mix minus thing to record the director on a separate, simultaneous track?

Yep, easily possible with no external equipment. You can even set up one of the F buttons as a cough button. I use F3. Very easy to setup and use. Lemme know when ya get it Smile

And then there's this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/90v056vqaji64nk/WW-AES2014-SPL_Crimson.mp4?dl=0

Drool... I've anticipated the SPL Crimson's arrival for over a year now. One serious piece of gear for under $800.

Same here. I rather like transformer coloration on my voice.

Get yourself a $99 Shure X2U and call it a day. Making choices on price is a slippery slope.
