No--no-- this is an earworm of the most compelling sort.
Guitar Boy brought this tune home.
He was in that state of simultaneous exhilaration and shame that comes to serious musicians from really loving a pop tune.
This the same kid who introduced me to the band Tool.
The same kid whose band occasionally covers Pantera tunes.
Toxic: Goosebump-inducing use of sound and silence and modalities and vocal arrangement & augmentation.
I highly recommend it. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

Love that tune! We used it in our preshow music for our last 10 minute play festival dealing with the mating game. Great song. No losing your cool card for that one DB! _________________ Pam Tierney

For the last few days including as I type this, I have had "Drift Away" by Dobie Gray running through my brain non-stop.
I love that song, but I'm at the point where I may never listen to it ever again. IT WILL NOT GO AWAY!

Dude! I love that song. It also has the dubious distinction of being the only song I have ever attempted at a karaoke bar. I'm still not allowed back in the city limits of Florence, AL for that one. _________________ Hart Voice Overs Blog

Currently stuck in my brain is "Here and Now" by Luther Vandross; I'll be singing it at a wedding in about four hours. (I didn't know it before Thursday and have been cramming for the final...) Lucky for me there's a nice karaoke club right around the corner.
At the reception I get to sing "Let's Stay Together", which I can do in my sleep thanks to many an outing to said k-bar. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

"I've Been Workin' On The Railroad."
Why?
I took Friday off and the wife takes me and the ten month old to Barnes and Noble for story time with Grandma Faye (an employee of BN, not a relative).
* 20 under 2 years old
* 20+ parents
Faye is packing them in...full house.
My first time.
The parents are singing and clapping like its 1/2 dose day at the looney barn and my daughter, facing me, has a bemused and pitying look on her face as if to say: "you poor pathetic man, you're 42 and you're clapping and singing (waaaay off key) a song you haven't thought of since 1969 (kindergarten for moi) and you think my enjoyment is from the song?! Oh you silly Da! My fun is watching you (and every other parent there) make complete asses of yourselves."
The truly pathetic part is when she finally ships me off to "the home" and I'm the one in diapers....that day will be a fond memory. _________________ - Peter

Did someone mention Shreveport?
At least you don't have the agony of what's running through MY head (thanks to XM's 70's channel): "Angie Baby."

Wow. Pre-selection of the wake-up tune. That's a neat trick! _________________ Greg Littlefield

Deebs couldn't lose her cool card if she tried.
Still, I gotta say thumbs down. A pop song has to have more than nifty production tricks to become a pleasure (guilty or otherwise)... _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.
