Mystery Guest: I was wondering about the costs for a short one sentence voice-over.
Me: It depends on what type of content it is and how it is to be used (radio/tv commercial, web video, etc). Also, is there a budget you're trying to stay within?
Mystery Guest: It will be for an outro of a radio and TV commercial for {name} Casino on {Caribbean island}, not for the U.S. The budget varies between 100 and 200 dollars.
Me: Oh, yes, the {big hotel} property. Where will the commercials be airing and for how long?
Mystery Guest: {crickets}

Whenever an inquiry includes words such as "short," "quick," "easy," "simple," etc., you can be pretty sure the inquirer is not expecting to pay much. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.
