Anyone have a copy (on CD) they'd be willing to sell me?
I've been using 3.0 and haven't wanted to upgrade to Adobe's draconian subscription model. Someone finally came up with a way to do Punch and Roll in CC (http://www.stevenjaycohen.com/2014/10/29/adding-punch-roll-to-adobe-audition/), and I think I can adapt his mac-based solution to AutoHotKey on the PC....I just need the software
Thanks!

If you are looking for PC, you still can buy on Adobe's site. Not for Mac though.
To find it (and it is definitely hidden), type "Adobe Audition CS6" in the search bar, and don't hit enter. The menu that pops up will have a tiny "Buy Now" link. Click that link and then click the Buy button by Audition. This will add it to your cart for you to buy for $349. |

I wish you well on your quest and hope you can figure out what I was not able to figure out. Yes, I also came across the Stephan Cohen article and played with it but I was not sufficiently motivated to get into the auto hot-key thing well enough to make it work.
You may be better off switching to a MAC and doing it the way Cohen does it.
Did they offer CS6 on a CD based package that came with a code that allowed you to activate the package without getting Adobe on the line to actually activate it on line? |

I can confirm that it works splendidly for Mac. I used it for CS6 and it worked exactly as he said it would for CC. My quest is now complete! I can finally use ONE program for punch and roll AND editing!
Thanks Adam!! |

Ah, sneaky sneaky Adobe - you're right Jason, I do see it on their site now....I spent quite a bit of time looking for it before.
It looks like download-only...I'm planning on buying it next week and I'll let you know how it goes. I'm glad you got the P n' R working! I played around with StudioOne and Reaper, but just can't get used to them - I'm too used to Audition. One thing that StudioOne did nicely is automatically put cross fades on the punch-in points....AA 3.0 doesn't do that so sometimes I end up with little "glitches" where the zero-points don't match up. Need to figure that out as well. _________________ Adam

If I already own CS6 on a PC and I buy a Mac, can I transfer it? _________________ David Marcus Gibson

Ya, I still like Studio One for punch and roll better. For me, it just flows better. I'll have to mess with the global hotkey thing so I don't have to use the cursor to click record in the script editor. I've gotten really used to the Studio One workflow for PNR recording only. Editing is terrible, but my muscle memory is almost to the point where I don't get out of the creative mindset most of the time.
David, nopers. You can't transfer. |
