I had light in my room that rang like that if there was any movement - the element in the light was producing the ringing noise. A drummer told me to "slap some Moongel on anything that rings." I paid $7 for that stuff, it's basically a putty they use on snare drums and cymbals to dampen small vibrations. It worked, but I replaced the light.
