No Bluetooth mic I've ever seen is useable for professional audio recording. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

Another problem is latency, having audio from bluetooth sync with picture would be very difficult. _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.

This thread has left me scratching my head.
I hang out with some consulting type guys who spend part or all of their time designing acoustics and A/V systems for houses of worship. These folks are using Apple products to do precision measurements and they don't like Android products because there is no consistency in the audio input circuitry. I don't think I have ever had an iPod or iPhone in my hand so any assumption or opinion I have is strictly 2nd and 3rd hand.
Did I miss a requirement that is required by the person on whose behalf we are having this discussion? I thought there were MANY mics that work well with the iThingys. How did we get to the point that it has to be Bluetooth? |

he wants wireless --- why? i have no idea - he's not an audio - OR a video guy - he's a hipster with a social media management business (and does quite well). he's just looking to get a LITTLE better audio out of his iphone when it is being held at a distance of 6' to 10'.
rode makes a wired lav for iphone that i think i'll recommend instead. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

Wireless was the 1st specification of the use case. Since we're talking mobile devices, Bluetooth was the obvious choice.... Though not really a good option.
Maybe when wifi direct becomes more ubiquitous. _________________ Don Brookshire
