On March 8th at 9 PM Hobo LaughingT, NBC begins airing a 3-part Dateline series called ESCAPE about people who recovered from disasters. The first part focuses on survivors of the 2003 Cedar Fire in San Diego County. It killed 16 people, injured many others, destroyed about 2600 homes and burned 256,000 acres. It burned 40 homes in my neighborhood and came within a quarter mile of our home. We know a number of people who lost their homes. One elderly neighbor was so overwhelmed he hasn't rebuilt. Several people we know have rebuilt there homes and are still rebuilding their lives.

The other segments are on the Costa Concordia and the Indian Ocean tsunami.

I'll be watching nervously. We are getting hot dry winds this weekend. High fire danger warning.
