Anyone using this?
I'm thinking about getting one for the road kit, to power a Sennheiser 416. |

I have one my DW bought me a year ago as a gift and I've never used it and don't plan to. Would 20% off ($160) and free shipping work for anyone?

Ok, got my MicPort Pro.
WOW what a game changer for auditions on the road.
Bruce, if you ever have to audition on the road and don't already have another one of these, I would consider hanging onto the one that you have. |

Not intended as a thread jack... but I'm considering my options for updating my lightweight road kit (since I became an owner of a 416), and was looking at the Shure X2U... any pros or cons compared to the MicPort Pro? _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

I think the micport pro goes to 96K and the shure goes to 48K. But hey is that an issue for you? |

Perhaps of greater significance than 96k vs 48k is the fact the Shure is 16 bit only _________________ If attacked by a mob of clowns go for the juggler.

I think the 96K thing is with Windows only. |

Buy both, return the one you don't like. They each have pros/cons.
If the MicPort Pro QC has improved, and they built it with better jacks, I'd say get that, but for half price the X2u does the job with a 416 just fine (ask Bill Ratner). _________________ If it sounds good, it is good.
