|
|
I have a few mics that I would love to hear your take on. All mics were recorded through a DBX 286a into an Audient iD22 (with the preamp bypassed) and then just volume tweaked to match RMS levels. The DBX had the HPF engaged and a very slight expander use (ratio at like 1:1.5) because that is how I always have everything set up.

Thanks in advance! |

Not much difference to my ears. All sound pretty good.
Preferred order, 2,4,3,1
Hope that helps! _________________ www.scottsvoiceover.com - An American voice in Finland

3, 1, 2, 4.
They are pretty "closely bunched". They have rather similar sounds. When you graph out the spectrum, they have rather similar appearance. |

Well that answers my question There are 2 mics. The Lauten Atlantis has 3 separate internal circuits for voicing the mic. I was curious how different they would sound in a blind test and if they are different enough to sound like different mics. I thought the differences were present but subtle. There is another mic in there though.
I apologize for the trickery sir constable. |

They sound good to me. Last one maybe a little thin.
I tend to shy away from multi-voiced mics because they excaberate my already
over-developed sense of audio analysis, and have me constantly wondering if what I'm doing might sound better with the other thingy switch engaged.....
It can become an endless loop in my head at times and then Philip's constable has to come over and bonk me on the noggin. |
