I’m not around all that much so maybe this has been brought up before, but this is the second time I’ve seen this Groupon. And if you’ll notice, this time around there’s already how many who are eager to get into this get rich quick business?

Add a plate of fries and some cheese curds and you'll have Poutine for the Brain™.

I myself personally NEVER wanted to get into Voyze Akking, someone threatened my pet King Cobra, Deepak.

I think $29 is a bargain! So you do the training and they then send you a voice over job? FYI there are sites run by right wing Christian fundamentalists and Hispanic organised criminals that for two or three hundred dollars will send you a voice over job every day. Combine those with an "agent" (not like James Bond) who also get you jobs for a fee of 10% of the fee the Voyze Akkurr gets and you're cooking on gas.

Now the smart money also pays a "manager" who unlike a real manager looks after marketing, contacts, admin, distribution, hiring and firing, simply takes (a) a monthly fee or (b) a percentage of the fees you earn from work sourced by others in return for "opportunities" and guidance based upon not ever having earned a dime (small American coin) for being an Voyze Akkur.

As one progresses it is essential to "update" your demos by paying someone around $3,000 for $350 of work, the real value is derived from the unique list of contacts they give to you and the other 3,000 Voyze Akkurs for whom they have provided this service.

Once all of the above are in place one should move to either New York, Los Angeles or Portgordon as two are cities in the USA and the other is a place where millions of dollars of Voice Over work (not related to Voyze Akking) ends up.

$29 is a good place to start, the future is bright. Go for it dood!

I laughed.
... and then I laughed some more.

I will probably laugh again later.
Repeatedly.

Probably more than this "guru" could make -- you know -- doing voiceovers. Mello

A little more than 10 years ago, when made aware of my acquaintance with him, a VO "coach" pleaded with me to ask the great one, Peter Thomas, whether he would agree to speak to one of the coach's classes of a select few.

I could almost hear the snicker in his voice when he politely declined. He knew then the industry was being invaded by Pied Pipers.

If this were being promoted as an Introduction to Voiceover in which the participants could get an overview of what the business is all about and what they needed to do to get started, and even help them decide if VO is something they really want to pursue, I think we'd have gone easy.

But once the Gravymaster injected such hyperbole as "jump-start an exciting career," "a $219 value," and "turn your passion into a career." the gloves are off.
