I've got the smaller Whisper Room, in the basement… single walled, however I added an extra layer of soundproof fiber board to the ceiling of the booth… It doesn't completely knock down running or walking upstairs… It does a decent job of knocking down the leaf blowers and lawnmowers, but again.. not completely..

I think it would help to use a shotgun mic in the booth… more effective in eliminating some ambient noise… Keep in mind a Whisper Room was designed to keep the noise in the booth from disturbing those outside, not the other way around….

It probably wouldn't hurt to throw down an extra rug on the floor directly above your recording space.

Wow, I laughed the hardest at the punch. I can see how that could be considered across the line, but I couldn't help it. I guess because 2 of my favorite shows of all time are South Park and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, I may have a bit of a warped sense of humor.
