The toughest, sportiest, most popular boy in school lay in a drunken stupor near the Bus Station in my old home town. I hope the glory of a lifetime and a half ago was worth it. I felt like whispering to him "If it's any consolation Tim you could still beat me up". I didn't. He didn't recognise me. I put him in a Taxi and made sure he got home safely. No matter what you were or what you may become, make sure who you are today counts. |
