Hey Chuck, that ain't no porch - that, sir, is a stately, old-fashioned verandah. Colour me green with envy _________________ Elaine

Allen--I hope you're painting the inside, which is much more interesting and...easier. We're still not done with a teeny, barely-one-car garage exterior paint job, having started the prep work in June! Its age (house was built in 1907, garage circa then too) makes for challenges. One more coat of trim and we're done, though we discovered we need to winch the house slightly west in order to straighten out the "passenger" door frame (the one with a doorknob, not the one through which a car fits) and replace said door with something other than a bullsh#t interior door. Whoever did that...smart.
Good luck. Lovely house yours!
Cripe, what's the topic of this thread again? I've forgotten. Between triscuits and verandas...!! _________________ sitting at #8, though not as present as I'd like to be. Hello!

Sorry Diane, I'm painting the OUTSIDE of this huge beast. I am using a sprayer though...no brushes for me on this one. My wife and I did the inside right after we bought it in mid 2000. Lots of paint work there too. It's taken ALL of the summer to get it ready to paint. I started on the south side (the right side in the photo) and will be continuing that endeavor this weekend. I'll have to post a more recent photo in another thread for a "before" look. |

Yes, a beautiful home Allen.
Deserving its own thread IMHO. |

Since y'all are in Bama, why don't you roll on up 65 to Music City? You haven't lived until you've had a critter on a biscuit.
