... i'm loaded with 'em.

Two important procedures while replacing stalk rolls include adjusting the timing of the stalk roll shafts, and checking the stalk roll backlash.

the term "stalk rolls" appears approximately 57,000 times in this 12,000 word eLearning module. my god have mercy on my soul.

stock rows, stalk rawls ... you name it.

Good grief!

Further evidence that simply because one can arrange words in a particular order does not make them a writer.

Here's to your getting through the project without too much stress and frustration, Todd.

Here's a solution: record the phrases "stalk roll" and "stalk rolls" a handful of different ways and then just paste the most appropriate one in where needed. It'll cut way down on your frustration level and it's a huge time saver.

I think I got that one from Heloise. Either that or Buzz Feed life hacks.

Ugh. I thought I had it bad with my ELearning about "Slickline Tools". I'll take that over "stalk rolls" any day. Good luck!

That's right up there with "The texts she sent." Yikes. May the luck of 1000 Leprechauns be with you in this process ... but not their dialect.

Now I understand! I couldn't put stalk rolls into context. In what industry would such a device be used?

When my oldest daughter was maybe 11 or 12 years old, we visited my sister out on the farm and my brother-in-law took the kids on a tour of "The Combine". As he and my daughter stood at the "rear end" of the device staring into the mechanism, he explained how the seeds were separated from the trash. So what is the response of a 12 year old girl at this point? How does it know the difference? The puzzled look on his face was priceless. This was a soybean farm instead of a corn farm, so he had no STALK ROLLS.

Oh, that little girl? 40 years later she makes a living as a consultant asking people that same question? "How do YOU know the difference?"

She looks at my studio... and asks... "Why?" And it is me that has the priceless puzzled look when she asks: "How do you know which books to read, and which books to walk away from?"

Now I know. If the words STALK ROLL show up more than twice, turn it down.
