I've had mixed feelings about the spot. As a young to middle aged actor who often feared getting fired off a job, it gave me the willies. I never got fired, but the fear was there.
Now that I've been in the biz as long as I have I really don't care. Great. Fire me. I can go home now and do something else.
And if you replace someone with Robert Duvall, what the hell were you thinking when you hired the original actor anyway?

I don't really see it as an actor being replaced. I see a director with a totally different vision - something that's so contrary to the typical formula for such spots. That's what I love about it. Of course, the new vision requires different everything. It makes me smile because to me it highlights that there's a place for whatever you, as an individual actor, bring that's uniquely yours. You just have to align with the people who need you - not simply whatever is typical. _________________ www.melissaeXelberth.com

Robert Duval doesn't need to say much to get you to listen. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

... but it will cost the Director a lot more for you to hear what Robert has to say. _________________ "Bailey"

It's a great spot. The execution is perfect. But I'm having some of those same mixed feelings as Bruce. I appreciate the story line that Melissa sees -- the in-session total change of direction from original specs. But the sub-text that hit Bruce -- Joe Nobody being bumped from a gig by Mr. Hotshot Celebrity -- also jumped out at me.
What would have been really cool is, if they had replaced one of those eTrade talking babies with Robert Duval. _________________ Lee Gordon, O.A.V.

I adore the copywriter who wrote: | You're a young farmhand and E-Trade is your cow...milk it. |
