Had forgotten how much I love the Blue Kiwi. Did a session at a high end
studio/post facility and they set me up on a Kiwi thru a Red 7. It was bliss.
Got home and took my Kiwi out of the mic cabinet and used it all afternoon. Only difference is I sent it through a Fearn...bliss x 10. It's gonna be a Kiwi summer!

got some gear-itis lately and have been meaning to try one from a friend- have liked it a lot in other studios.... Ditto on the Fearn Have had one for a long time and yeah man, really nice...tho GR and 610 w/ 416 get most use for me lately. lkg forward to a/b'ing Kiwi against a Pel 2247 and miktek c7e--which i havent used much...(i have too many mics, but do feel warmth for the Kiwi when I've used em)

I, too, have too many mics. 35 years of collecting will do that to you!
But I also produce music projects and jingles so they are the tools of the trade. I guess if I fixed cars I'd have a lot of automotive repair tools.

Very cool! I know a lot people enjoy that mic. I recently added this guy to my modest mic locker. Can't wait to try it out.

Slightly off topic but I just picked up one of these bad boys. Nice sound for VO for sure. The Mouse is also a winner for VO IMO.

Yup. Mouse +1. NOT, however, a neutral mic.

Is that a TLM 49... or is it a different model?

Just started using a TLM 49--not at a discount--but I AM loving it! I think I'm home!

I picked up a demo deal TLM49 back in 08 and used it for everything thru 013.
Really like that mic, still have it, and was tempted last week to take it out of the mic cabinet and put it on the boom.

I've been rocking the Blue Mouse for years now (it's my only mic) and it's done me well.
Am looking to expand the mic locker. I've never heard of anyone using a Kiwi for VO. Is that more common than I thought it was?

I know only a couple of local studios that have a Kiwi in their booth and both are pretty busy studios for VO sessions. One runs thru a Red 7 and the other thru an M1 and both sound great. It's a fine mic.
