...Just wondering, because my Forte is getting increasingly temperamental.

I have a John Hardy M-1 pre, but I hear the pres in the Audient are really good.....

Still liking... lots.
It sits there in its manly ruggedness just doing its thing in a "come at me bro" sort of way. It remains firm-footed if I ever want to move cables and gives me lots of options for patching ISDN and suchlike. The software control is useful for routing and stuff... and it does all this while sounding pretty damn good.

No complaints on my end Smile Other than the hipass filter at 100hz.

My main focus is on the quality of the pres and the stability of the drivers.

I know Bish uses a CAD and a 416 ( I think)...Jason, what mics are you using with the Audient?

Man, I hate 100 Hz HPF. I use a Mackie VLZ4 as a preamp (me likey) but it's a 100 Hz HPF. Luckily, since it's a mixer I dial in 2-3 db of 80 Hz EQ and it sounds normal again.

Happy here, the ADC unit inside is about as good as one can get without stepping up to a dedicated ADC like the Hilo:

That'll run you $2200+ though (maybe less used).

Most of the other preamp/interface combos all use Texas Instrument integrated ADC's that are more or less the same.

OH, and if you use an outboard preamp you can bypass the HPF in the iD22 completley and just use the converter. My Avalon has an adjustable filter that I set at around 60-70, seems to do the trick.
