Hello! A quick question for you 416 fans out there...I have got a Sontronics Saturn on the Rode PSA-1 studio arm in my booth...without having to do a pitstop switching mics on the arm, I was looking for an alternative option to mount the 416... what are some of the best options?...i'm limited in space, so was thinking of a desktop stand instead of a secondary arm...any specific recommendations for a desktop stand/mount?
Thanks! _________________ At one time there were voiceover artists, now there are celebrity voiceover artists. It's unfortunate because these people need the money less than the voiceover artist.

This Heil stand is a nice clean look that would help in a crammed space. It's a bit pricey but all the stuff (Springs, mic cable) us hidden.
Yellowtec makes some really good stuff but you're gonna pay for their quality for sure.
Looks like a desktop mic boom is gonna start at about $100.
Otherwise, I don't have a 416 yet but waiting for it on my desk is something like this. _________________ www.moosevoice.com |

Why don't you get a mic mount bar? I haven't yet tried the one that I ordered (it's going in the new studio when it's finished), but I plan on mounting the 416 on the same arm (have both the Heil and the RODE) as the TLM103.
Of course I could be delusional thinking it's going work?
The mount bar cost me about $10 and can fit up to 3 mics on it. _________________ www.mattcowlrick.com |

I purchased a Rode SM4 shockmount for my 416 which works well. A price search will find one as low as $45.
Strangely I inherited an AKG H 85 Universal Shock Mount from a fellow voice talent and I like it even a titch better. They're going for $120 new however.
