I have Source-Connect, and I've been REALLY happy with it, doing Source-Connect sessions. But today I did my first SC Bridge to ISDN, and it was a disaster. Constant drop-outs, on both sides...

So I need real-time, up-to-date recommendations for a bridge. Is ipDTL my only other option? If so, does it WORK? Please chime in if you have it and use it to bridge to ISDN, and tell me the good, bad and ugly.

Yes, I have the "Tel" subscription and it does work. But a lot will depend on how good the Internet is at your studio.

I recommend getting ipDTL Tel just as a phone patch/Skype replacement. It sounds so much better, which makes the sessions go better.

Supposedly you need Tel + to connect to mobile phones, but I've been able to do that when I reduce the bit rate, and it still sounds very good.

Note also that ipDTL now has capacity for 2 connections, and a more expensive model for 4 connections. And negligible delay. Plus, you can record the incoming audio now, which is a huge development.

Next year they're going to make it so that you can pan the connections to L and R.

Honestly, I'm not using ipDTL much for an ISDN bridge, but it's well worth it for the studios I work with that like using ipDTL and how much I like using it as a Skype/Patch replacement.

Hey Lance, can you receive calls for phone patch?
A lot of my clients "insist" on call me for patch sessions (even phone line, not just ISDN).

Good question. I think it's just outgoing - which what I do 100% of the time, joining conference calls Smile

And that's the other thing - conf calls on Skype/patch stink! When I use ipDTL everyone can hear me.

Here's the page explaining what ipDTL Tel & Tel+ can and can't do. https://ipdtl.com/tel_dial_an_isdn_line_from_your_web_browser.php
