As a regular YouTube viewer I was pleased to see that they have announced they will drop the locked in :30 ads before certain videos starting next year . But then I realized that might cut down a bit on a source of income for some of us . But then I read that they are going to replace the :30's with unskippable :20 ads , and :06 ads, so voice talent income should be about the same .
Oh, and I learned from the article below that those ads you can skip are called True View ads and can be any length . The advertiser only pays for those if they are watched all the way through .

So, what you're saying is that advertisers don't actually pay for those ads... _________________ Finally, Ford stops starting to say things and starts. |

I read an article a while ago that said the view (watched all the way through) rate is 30%. _________________ www.mattcowlrick.com |

youtube has gotten quite good at targeting me with ads i MIGHT watch all the way through. some of them are clever, entertaining and MIGHT even entice me to click through.
as an aside, first of the year, an automotive group i work with has pulled ALL local TV advertising in favor of targeted web campaigns ... and all indications show that it's moving metal. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis
