Serious note. In a TV studio for live announcements I used the MKH50 for a couple of years. Elisa Canas (the future Mrs Banks) has been in Africa for several months and whilst working for local charities continues to do VO work, mic of choice MKH50, plugged into a macbook using one of the baby USB things that looks like an over sized jack plug. Recording space can be literally a mud hut. Poor sound from an MKH50? Trust me, the problem is not the mic.

Sounds like a review of a new Starbucks drink.

THIS is the sound the majority of male vo people seek.

I know I've posted this before. The point is that they are NOT on K-BANAL FM any more and there is no subtlety to be found in 1200% bass EQ boost, 6:1 compression, being 1 inch from the mic, tube warmth at 11 and a 0.1 db dynamic range.

Spend $1,000 on your performance skills then buy an industry accepted mic.
MKH416
TLM103

Real test? If people notice your mic they are not hearing you.

Come to think of it, a mud hut may be the closest thing to a rockwool chamber. Mrs. Banks is thoroughly enchanting.

Day-1 bedroom test rendered muddy results through the Zoom H5 - with and without 80hz low-cut. I backed up two feet, but it exhibited only sightly better ambient rejection than the CAD e100s, and still muddier. I do like the tone, what I can hear of it. Apparently Elisa's [Mic Port Pro] is more powerful than my Zoom OR her midichlorians are more plentiful.

Coincidentally, I just got an offer for KISS FM robojocking beginning next week. The challenge now is to manifest my pure shamanic voice amidst copious amounts of oral flatulence through an RE-20.

I will dream of lightsabers and MKH 50s...
