If you have a room acoustic treatment, how important is it that you be close to the sound absorbing material when you are recording? Or does it even matter? Would you have a bit more "air" if you are several feet away?
I'm thinking also of "acoustic clouds." Would they work just as well attached to the ceiling...or should they be hanging down and physically closer to your voice and microphone.
Note, I'm talking about a 12 by 12 area. Not a booth.
I'm interested in your learned opinions. _________________ "I reserve the right to be completely wrong." |

as long as you have clean sound i don't think it makes any difference how far the material is from you. an open space that is properly treated gives a natural sound not compressed by small enclosures. |
