If anyone still enjoys great analog audio and a great professional tape machine, I have a Teac A-3300SX 2-track open reel tape deck in excellent physical/aesthetic and operational condition available.
By "2-track," I mean half-track; in which half of the tape width is used by track 1 (left channel) and the other half for track 2 (right channel). Unlike a consumer recorder, it is not possible to turn the tape over and record again without destroying the first recording.
The machine accommodates up to 10.5" reels, runs at either 7.5 or 15 ips, includes the RC-120 remote control, a 10.5" take-up reel and is still in its original box. I bought the machine in the late 80s, and am only the second owner; it came with the original purchase receipt.
As of the last time I used it (about 10 years ago), the machine records and plays perfectly. The heads and guides have no visible wear and the pinch roller is not even discolored. The deck and cabinet are in excellent condition.
I realize there may not be much interest in such a machine; especially as the cost of shipping might make it even less appealing. But I'd rather give the machine to someone who appreciates great analog tape sound than bring it to the recycling center. I'll include a Teac tape head demagnetizer. Anyone interested can come pick it up.
Message me via the VO-BB for more info.
The photo below is NOT of my machine, but my machine looks just like it, minus what appears to be some abrasion on the head block cover.

i gave a teac, a fostex & a rack mounted otari 5050 away on craigslist a few years ago to an audio-techie millennial - you might try that - eliminate the shipping. _________________ "i know philip banks": todd ellis

Under normal circumstances, I could. But I'm not quite yet confident in my stability following hip surgery to lift and carry the machine to the car. _________________ Mike
