I looked at horse stall mats today and they were displayed outdoors. Even outdoors, I could smell the rubber. It was pretty strong.

Does that odor go away? I don't want that smell in my booth.

Do you think that this off-gassing is just annoying or do you think that it is possibly dangerous to one's health?

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the main objective with putting one of these in the booth? Posture health? deadening, cutting out vibrations?

Yes, all of those things.

More comfortable to stand on than a hard floor.
Helps isolation and damping vibrations in the floor.
Thinking of putting one on the roof of the booth as well.
A 4'x 6' mat at 3/4" thick weighs around 48 lbs. or at least the one that I am looking at does.
And it sells for only $40.

Hey Nick. I used two of those stall mats as a replacement for heavy MLV in my booth build to beaf up the density between my room inside a room (so the mats themselves are inside the wall and I never smelled them after sealing that u. HOWEVER, I did have some scraps from needing to cut the mats and those sat in a box in my office for like 2 years (I clean up really frequently...) and I remember the smell disappearing quite quickly. I let them sit in the garage for a couple weeks before I installed them. I think, like any new rubber thing, the smell is strong at first but will go away.
