Last night I had the pleasure of meeting Steve Anthony. I also met a woman who has been "lurking" at vo-bb for some time but is new to VO and does not feel ready to post so I won't blow her cover but I thought, how cool is that, to meet vo-bb-ers unexpectedly.
In the last month I've also met (not unexpectedly, but with great pleasure) Deirdre, and Greg Littlefield; my neighbor up the street is a sometime-vo-bb-er (chezdan), and I met Spacegypsy when she was living in NY. Numerous near-encounters with Anthony but no actual field sightings yet. And of course Pat Fraley is a vo-bb-er now too and I've met him.
I got to wondering how many of you all have met people from here or even knew each other already?
It's quite a place. |

Mary,
It is indeed quite a place. I've known Glenn Moore for a number of years. He and I met when I lived in Pittsburgh. I've seen Mike Carta (banjo) each of the last 2 years at the Dan O'Day Summit, which is also where I met Pat Fraley for the first time.
I've spoken on the phone with Frank and Dan-O as well, though I haven't met either of them in person, yet. _________________ Be well,

The only VO-BBer I've met so far is Jim Barton.
He's a class act.
COURVO called me shortly after I joined the board. I got the deluxe welcome. |

Know what's a trip?
Meeting people you already know!
Seeing Mary and Greg in Boston was just so
. . .well, so REASONABLE. We were in the same space and that was exciting! But somehow or other is just "made sense."
I've also spent some time with Charlie Channel.

Deirdre,
I'll make that trip!
Speaking of which, just last week there was a group of about 100 Scottish ministers and spouses here visiting the Billy Graham headquarters. None that I met from Port Gordon. But, oh such lovely accents they all had. _________________ Be well,

I have not had the pleasure of meeting anyone from the board (that I know of). I've spoken with Frank several times on the phone, but haven't met him in person yet. Hopefully that will change in the near future. Great guy! _________________ TG2

Where was this "meeting", Mary?
It's making me wonder if there's the possibility of a VO-BB fest in the future. _________________ DBCooperVO.com |

It was in Amherst at a New Media Focus Group. A local business woman is doing amazing things here to build bridges between people like us and area businesses and academics (of which we have a lot). She dropped a spot on the program into my lap, so I gave a presentation on VO. You can read a press release if you're interested - it continues to amaze me, the talent in this little region.
As for a meeting in New York in March 2007, my ancestral home there is available for a party if you give me some dates. |

Philip,
I'm in. It's the one month next year, aside from December, when I don't have a business trip already scheduled. _________________ Be well,

Absolutely! DB, as we know from looking in the "Learn" section does VO training. And then the sine qua non of Zen VO training, Philip Banks, has indicated he'll be in attendence. We're sure to learn a great deal. Some of it even having to do with voiceover. _________________ Be well,
