Quote: | Audition:
Digital paid and unpaid. 2 years, global
$2,000 |
Off by 360%, Kids. Should be $7200 for 2 years *at the very least.*
It's non union, so there's no pension and health, but the talent should be getting at least $1800 for each aspect each year. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Here's one I'm "curious" about:
An email 10:30pm Saturday from an east coast studio asking me to audition for a :30 spot for a resort hotel along one of America's popular southern beaches. They need the audition Monday because they want to record later in the week. The offer: $275.
I'm thinking the offer is "a little" light. I just asked where and for how long the spot is to run. We'll see what happens next. _________________ Mike

You asked good questions, but these days you need to be thinking in all directions unless you "that's what agents are for" have an agent.
TV? Radio? Market? Internet? Placement? Duration?
If it's radio in a small market, it might not be lean. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

I knew I should ask about those other media, but...
(to address your last thought) I'm going to guess that a fabby vacation resort in a popular beach area is probably not going to advertise locally; at least not only locally.
So, I'm figuring, by asking about the usage instead of immediately accepting the offer (what I think he was hoping for) or declining it, I'll wait to see what his response is... *IF* he responds at all.
(Although the contact name is not the same, this is a studio I had serious payment issues with nine years ago and haven't heard from them until now.) _________________ Mike

I'm told the spot will run in the resort's own local market as well as another market in the same state. I've had to ask a second time for how long the spot will run. _________________ Mike
