They say second hand smoke is bad for you and I believe it. As you may have seen, Portland Oregon, known for it's luscious clean and blue skies (when it's not raining) has had air pollution worse than Beijing China lately, and that's saying something! Forest fires North, South, and inland from us have socked us in with thick smoke for a few weeks now.

It creates for me and others a sticky phlegm that's tough to dislodge from the vocal folds, and even when I think I've cleared my throat well there's still a slightly diseased sounding rasp to everything I've done lately. Yuck and shite.

The winds have started to shift and are coming from the ocean and the smoke is almost all gone and we should be clear for days now. Here's hoping my voice box returns to its upright and normal position.

I was just considering posting this anyway. Recently said to have a mild case of asthma and prescribed an inhaler, I decided to forego the drug route and look elsewhere. Googling herbal teas for respiratory wellness, I found Mullein Tea. I've been drinking it for over a month, and it has indeed considerably cleared up my mild respiratory congestion.

It's caffeine free and organic. Give it a try: https://www.amazon.com/Alvita-Teas-Mullein-Tea-count/dp/B00LI374PM/?th=1 You may be able to find it in vitamin/health food stores, too.
