If you're interested in studying the exertion, and sometimes the lack of exertion, it takes to make a good animated character performance, this video should be useful and fun. Here are at least two dozen actors performing side by side with the final product in several of the top movies of the past few years.

Great compliation. What is the first mic for those Incredibles sessions - reminds me of a KSM44 but bigger...and why is it off axis? _________________ Skype: globalvoiceover

Because when you're voice acting for animation you have to be a little off angle?
Bent?

Because most if not all of these clips are staged to promote the cartoons and not really from the actual recordings/takes used in the finished productions. They stage us far enough away from the mic to get a good shot of us recording. Often they book a full day to video mock sessions to use as PR. |

Then what difference would it make to be accurate in the visual to turn the mic 90 degrees "on axis" to portray real usage? _________________ If attacked by a mob of clowns go for the juggler.

Cuz the only ones who know proper mic placement would be those in our business. This is celebrity PR to promote a film. Not a demonstration of proper mic technique. Note how many aren’t even reading. They are playing to the camera. |

See above then buy the "Need to get out more" T Shirt.
PR and marketing is both KING, QUEEN and their Cat, Alan.
I quite liked the clips for about 5 minutes then my will to live slowly ebbed away. A passing Pirate Crew found my corpse on the floor of my office so I am happy to be able to report that I was able to make a full, partial recovery thanks to a slug of OVD Rum. |
