He’s a bit of a fibber when he says he’s “nothing” and not sure he deserved the honor. You and your mates, sir, are really something and continue to earn our gratitude.
Emma’s stepdad trained as a B-24 bomber pilot and ran 25+ missions over Europe during the latter half of the war. I got to ask him a lot of questions but didn’t think to ask how it felt to go up knowing that hundreds of pilots and thousands of crew before him and around him never came back.
Some call it grit I guess.

What those Hurricane drivers did against excellent German aircraft amazes me. The Spitfire is the glamour girl--and this video seems to subtly support that idea--but it was certainly the combo of those airplanes, both wonderful in their own way, that decided things. _________________ Jack Daniel
