				| I’m not technically inclined so please excuse the potential ignorance of this question In advance. I’m ready to add some monitors to my small studio space. Looking at the Genelec 8020’s ...are they compatible with my older generation Scarlett Solo interface? Thanks! _________________

				| I found on Focusrite's website the user manuals for the Scarlett Solo (1st Generation and 2nd Generation). As these units have only line level outputs, it will work only with powered speakers (those with built-in amplifiers), or a separate amplifier must be used. The Genelec 8020s are powered, so they will work.
However, because the Scarlett's line level outputs are in the form of RCA jacks, and the Genelec monitor inputs are XLR connectors, you will need appropriate cables. See this page for cables fitting that description.

Focusrite changed the line level outputs to 1/4" TRS (balanced) jacks on the Scarlett Solo 3rd Generation, so cables found on this page would be used.
