|
|
Hi friends!
Anyone done a gig where they're simply pronouncing words or names for a dictionary a or some such? Would that fall under "e-learning per-word" rates?
Thanks for any info. I'm trying to nail down a quote ... _________________ * * * * * * * * * *

I'd just go by an hourly rate in studio. If you're reading for clarity you'll certainly read far less than 150 words per minute of narration. Plus you'll make more if you encounter words like antidisestablismentarianism or hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia.

A agree with Bruce... you could be messing up a per-word rate with the slow diction required for this... unless, of course, you adjust your rate accordingly (e.g. up from a 25 cent rate to 35 or 40). What are the requirements for file splitting (hopefully not per word!)?
Alternatively, using 25 per word as a baseline, regular narration gives you $2,250 per finished hour (150wpm). Specify that as an hourly rate for finished deliverables with one second of room tone/silence between each word. Something like that should put you ahead of the game with some wiggle-room. _________________ Bish a.k.a. Bish

Upon deeper inspection, I have decided that this particular project would be on the upper end of the PITA scale.
So, pass.
Thank you, friends, for your help! _________________ * * * * * * * * * *

Oh, it is far more complicated than that. Hence the "no, thank you."

Is this the one where they wanted you to listen to accented files and replicate? Yeah. Uh. No. _________________ www.melissaeXelberth.com
