Hello family.
Remember me?
I got co-opted by Facebook like so many others.
Well, they are offline this morning, and I am seeking life elsewhere.
Twitter is buckling under the pressure of the wave of "homeless" users.
My focus is going into LinkedIn and here on VO-BB.
It's time I remember where I came from...

Hope everyone's well and enjoying a Social Media fasting like I am today.

The temporary closing of the Book of Faces is an inconvenience in that my wife's only communication means through her work is Facebook Messenger. The mass hand-wringing is fascinating to watch. I wonder how many people reflexively tried to go onto Facebook to say that Facebook was down.

If Facebook ends up being dead, or at least heavily neutered, I hope people will come here to the VO-BB to get their voice over chats and Yayas. Feel free to spread the word that we have nothing to do with algorithms or Zuckerberg.

I can't accurately answer the survey because several answers apply and the radio style buttons allow only one choice.

But if I have to pick just one, VO-BB is always my home. I missed the Facebook outage because I was driving all day, from the La Quinta in NJ, where I stayed for Uncle Roy's BBQ, all the way to south Florida (about 1250 miles).

the vo-bb is my only "social media" interaction ... mostly because i hate people. (present company excluded). i DO look at Linked In once in a while, but rarely post.

I don't have a good answer for this, either. I don't tweet and I always check in here but don't always interact (have been trying to do that better). This is a happy place. A place of acceptance and love and friends. And why hasn't anyone brought cake lately?!!?
