As boardmeister of this august site I am provided with occasional opportunities. Here's an example I got from New Zealand:
To save you a bit of research here's what caught their Internet scan's eye... basically my response to someone who wanted to know what to do with green tomatoes:
Quote: | Try putting the green tomatoes in a paper bag with an apple or two. The ethylene gas put off by ripening apples will speed up the ripening of the tomatoes. Check them once a day so you can pull out tomatoes that are ready or replace apples that are about to rot.
Here's a website with further ideas: http://tipnut.com/ripen-tomatoes/
Enjoy! |
An opportunity I think I'll pass on.

I'm on hour 18 of air drying green toms. I've also roasted a lot. Quebec ketchup is about 24 hours away!! _________________ 006 member of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Mic. Bonded by sound.

You learn something new every day. Quebec ketchup, also known as chow chow? Sounds delish.
