Zoiks-- it's all over the map. Some of it sounds like it is top studio quality, other voices sound like they were recorded in a college dorm room.
Odd jumbles in voice direction:
There are proximity discrepancies, i.e. one person yelling in a conversation with a friend/colleague who is speaking softly.
Some of the accents are horrid, some are clearly authentic or are so well made they sound authentic.
The actual quality of the voice talent spans the spectrum as well with wonderful, engaging characters (Hey Maiku-- one of the protagonists has an English accent!! Imagine that—a GOOD guy!) and others who sound like they were cast like so many favors given to their fathers.
Jury's out on the gameplay itself because it's a new battle system that's active and you're in full motion the entire time. It's great fun, although I was in a desert section yesterday doing battle with wolves and little cactus brats when a dinosaur showed up. I figured since it was in the same area as the other smaller guys I could give him a go-round— and he seriously kicked my ass.
GAME OVER.
Can't wait to see what happens today.
heh. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

The TV ads, at least, have a bona fide VO.
I never liked turn-based RPGs, but the genre seems to be moving away from that. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

I wonder if that sound was specifically done for the TV spot. _________________ DBCooperVO.com

Probably. You don't often see a complete package where an in-game narrator also cuts promos.
I'm impressed with the TV spot visuals and wondering if they're actual in-game cutscenes,
Ack. You bring out the gamer geek in me. _________________ Great Voice. Great Choice. For Voice Talking and stuff.

The whole game is as nifty as one huge cutscene. The battles don't take you out of the scene you're in -- like Zelda games, they stay in-scene.
You can also avoid enemies if you like-- but the big difference is the 360° camera control you have with the right analog stick.
