When hired to do scripts that contain some awkwardly translated passages, I have politely made the producer or client aware and offered to make any necessary modifications. Usually, I've been given the green light.
But, for audition scripts, whose translation from another language results in poor or awkward wording that is obviously not typical American English, I'm curious as to how you approach them.
When a client's goal is to reach and engage an American English audience, do you submit auditions after making the changes necessary to accomplish that, or do you leave the wording as-is? _________________ Mike

Why not give them both? They may like what you have to offer for suggestions. If not, they have the original script read that you also provided. _________________ "What was that? An exhibition? We need emotional content." - Bruce Lee, Enter The Dragon |

On occasion I have modified an English language audition script written by an English speaker. If they offered poor word choice or poor grammar I have no problem in fixing it for the audition. Since my audition success ratio is roughly 1 in XX*, I don’t think it really matters.
* I use XX here because I really don’t keep track, just like I don’t keep track of my lottery winnings versus purchases. “You can’t win if you don’t play.”
