Besides the pros on this board, who's demos are all fantastic, which demo's would you say are among the top 5 or 10 all-time best demos you've ever heard?

Might I suggest Jim Cissell at www.voicesandfaces.com, Bob Jump, and Alan Sklar.

$$$And everybody knows:$$$$
http://www.primetimevoices.com/home.htm
$$$$$
Perhaps the website itself can be considered a demo of sorts.

I'm proud to say Jim is a personal friend from MCA-I. He's a real cool guy as well as a great performer...on and off camera.

Try Erik Thompson - http://www.etvoices.com/ Listen to his Narration demo.

We've worked together a lot over the years. He's out of SD County - got in with Cunningham in LA and has been doing great.

Have you been to www.voicebank.net?
Click on House Reels
Click on Union/International Talent Agencies
Take your pick of the top NY/LA VO agencies with Union talent and hear some of the best of the best.
You'd be hard pressed to find a bad demo here (although I was a bit surprised at the Shadoe Stevens Narration demo... (Atlas))
My personal favorites seem to be particular to the voice and their performance.
Peter Thomas, Bill St. James, Ernie Anderson, Fred Collins, Don Peoples, Larry Kenney... the list goes on and on.
I have a folder of demos called BestPros and play their demos next to mine to keep things in perspective of how far I have to go.

Regarding primetimevoices... can anyone identify the man who has been voicing alot of promos for TBS? He also does the Subaru spots presently

It's neither of the two you mentioned. (I just listened to their demos at voicebank!) The guy I'm thinking of has a higher pitch and more of a frontal or hard palate placement.

He's my favorite. And, I agree the clinkers are few and far between in that lofty company.

I suggest our own ... Banksey, DB, Pat Fraley, Connie T, Kevin G, Dave DeHart... and I could go on and on...

Toodles

No doubt. The original post, however, stated "Besides the pros on this board".

Alas, my hero Ernie Anderson has long gone to that eternal sound booth in the sky.

I know they were trying to sell some of his generic radio bumpers...don't know if they still are.

Thanks for the referral SteveAnthony. Now there's a guy who's got every category of VO demo covered! I really like that image on his home page too. Very dramatic.

Thanks everyone for the list of "Bests". I am going to give all these guys a good listen. Hopefully it will help me make my demo better!
