Great column by Cade Metz, a tech journalist I've read off and on since about '07.

Whoever starts a company that can find this type of theft... would make an absolute killing if they took some kind of cut from all the lawsuits to come.

An intrepid idea: for deep-pocketed companies that steal voices ("'I was in their pitch video to raise money,' Ms. Sage said. The company has since raised more than $7 million and claims over two million customers across the globe.") sue them for a piece of what they raised, or the revenue gained from such theft, etc.

Now... if you the voice actor don't have anything in writing that says your voice shall not be used to train an AI model, then... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ guess that's on you.

How often do ya'll find a contract of some kind is required for what you do? For me, I've only ever signed them when working with Google, Apple, and some campaigns (depending on who's producing it).
